Job Description: Rozier Construction is seeking a full-time Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience with a general contractor as a superintendent and must be willing to travel. In conjunction with the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager, the Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating projects from start to completion and ensuring project construction is performed safely and within budget and schedule constraints. Superintendents will be responsible for overseeing the onsite management of construction projects, including the supervision and oversight of onsite personnel and subcontractors.  This position will direct onsite personnel and subcontractors in the planning, coordination, and execution of work. Responsibilities:

  • Read project blueprints and communicate to construction team the requirements of the project
  • Maintain daily/weekly log of construction activity and submit weekly progress reports
  • Oversee a strict project schedule, ensuring milestones are reached and all deadlines are met
  • Coordinate all on-site construction project activities and services
  • Ensure all the safety and well-being of all on-site personnel through strict adherence to safety policies
  • Maintain project site and facilities in a clean, organized, and safe manner
  • Communicate with project manager, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure coordination throughout the project
  • Resolve on-site issues as quickly as possible and work with project manager to ensure proper reporting

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a construction superintendent
  • 5+ years in commercial construction
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Building Science, Engineering or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience;
  • Ability to read project plans and ensure crews/subcontractors are adhering to specifications
  • Ability communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Highly organized; Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Availability and ability to travel

Working Conditions:

  • Normal on-site field work.  Evening and/or weekend work when necessary.
  • The majority of work is completed on job sites in an office trailer or in an existing structure. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company’s safety policies and as required for weather conditions.
